Inspired by the ideals and teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, a group of devotees of Salt Lake, Kolkata, started an association named Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education with a view to spreading their message in all spheres of society. This association was registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. The primary aim of the school is the comprehensive development of the personality and character of the students as envisaged by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, besides providing formal education as per the syllabi approved by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, with which the school is affiliated.
