CBSE Class 10 Results 2026 Declared: 93.70% Students Pass
New Delhi, April 15, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced the Class 10 board examination results for the academic year 2025-26. The results were declared earlier than in previous years, with the board crediting the timely evaluation of over 1.6 crore answer sheets by nearly seven lakh examiners.
According to official data released by the CBSE, the overall pass percentage this year is 93.70 per cent, a marginal increase from 93.66 per cent recorded in 2025. As many as 24.7 lakh students had appeared for the examinations conducted between February 17 and March 11, 2026.
Girls continued their strong performance, recording a pass percentage of 94.99 per cent, compared to 92.69 per cent among boys. The gender gap in pass percentage remains consistent with trends observed in recent years.
Among affiliated school categories, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) achieved the highest pass percentage at 99.57 per cent, followed closely by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) at 99.42 per cent. The Trivandrum and Vijayawada regions jointly topped the performance chart with a pass percentage of 99.79 per cent.
In line with its policy since 2020, the CBSE has not released a formal merit list or the names of toppers to reduce academic pressure on students. The board has instead emphasised celebrating the success of all students who cleared the examination.
How to Check CBSE Class 10 Results
Students can access their results through the following official channels:
- CBSE official websites: results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in
- DigiLocker and UMANG mobile applications
- SMS service by sending “cbse10 <roll number>” to 7738299899
Candidates will need their roll number, date of birth and school number to view the digital marksheet. The board has advised students to download and print their provisional marksheets for immediate use.
Next Steps for Students
The CBSE is expected to open the window for re-evaluation and compartment examinations shortly. Students dissatisfied with their marks or those who failed in one or two subjects can apply for re-checking or appear for the supplementary exams. Detailed schedules will be notified on the board’s official website in the coming days.
Class 11 admissions in CBSE-affiliated schools are likely to commence soon after the results. Students aiming for competitive entrance examinations or specific streams are advised to begin the application process at the earliest.
The early declaration of results this year is expected to provide students with additional time for higher secondary admissions and other academic planning.
