how to get udise code of a school

The 'Unified District Information System for Education’ UDISE is a registration scheme introduced by the Government of India to record the data of students studying in schools in India.

Every school should have a UDISE Code for establishing their unique Identity. Anyone can easily assess the real-time data related to schools such as school infrastructure, admission, teacher availability, and academic performance.

It avoids duplication and makes sure that the provided data is correct. Accurate data will help policymakers in making policies and plans related to the education system. It is the most efficient and effective way of collecting data in a shorter period of time.

To get the UDISE code, it is essential that the school is situated in the state or union territory of India and is recognised by the educational department of the respective.

Schools should provide accurate information for obtaining the code. Information such as school name, address, type and medium of instruction number of students in each class, and their gender facilities such as libraries, classrooms, playgrounds, toilets, and laboratories teaching and non-teaching staff along with their qualification and experience.

The school should also attach all the necessary documents required.

Step-by-step guide for getting UDISE code

1. The school should visit the district MIS officer with the required documents, especially with a recognition letter from the school.

2. Through ‘School Directory Management’ on the UDISE+ website the district MIS Officer will apply for the code and the request will go to the state MIS user for approval.

3. The state MIS user verifies the application and contacts the district level in case of any clarification. The state-level MIS user has the authority for the generation of the UDISE Code.

4. After completing the verification, the state-level MIS officer sends the application to the Ministry of Education for generating the UDISE Code.

5. A provisional UDISE Code is generated.

It approximately takes one week to generate the original UDISE code. After registration, the block education officer will identify your school and send details for verification.  Schools that do not register on the UDISE+ Portal will face consequences and can also be closed.

In conclusion, generating the UDISE code is very important for schools so that they can be uniquely identified. By following the above-mentioned steps one can easily register their school.
