About Us
St. James High School, Binnaguri, was founded by the Congregation of The Brothers of St. Patrick (Patrician Brothers) in 1973. It is registered as The Educational Society of St. James' School, and this institution is managed by the Brothers and assisted by the Sisters of Norte Dame. The Educational Society of St. James High School also manages a Hindi Medium School (St. Partick's School), the NIOS (National Institute of Open School), and an IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) study centre on the same campus, to cater to the educational needs of the local community, especially the marginalised and underprivileged. At the same time, St. James School is governed by the same rules and regulations that apply to Anglo-Indian schools in West Bengal, and it is protected by Article 30 of the Indian Constitution, which protects Christian Minority Rights.
