The school was founded on November 15th, 1970 by Mrs. E. Gasper (nee Graham), who envisaged an English-medium co-educational school to promote and disseminate knowledge for the development of the Anglo-Indian community as well as the other communities sharing the common desire for education in the English medium based on national and Catholic ethos. The late C.R. Gasper was entrusted with the responsibilities of the school as its principal. Classes commenced in January, 1971 at 43 Ripon Street, Kolkata.
