At that time there were no primary schools in remote areas. Block Domkal Basantpur village of Murshidabad. But the son of the soil Dr. Nazrul Islam dreamed otherwise. He, unlike other high officials, maintained regular contact with his native village and formed an NGO called Basantpur Shiksha Samiti. The society established a primary school in the village in 1996. It was a historical landmark. Those who thought that Dr. Nazrul Islam had done enough for his native village and after that, he could live on nothing, had more to learn.
