Punjab Keshri “Lala Lajpat Rai” was born on 28th January, 1865 in Firozpur Distt. Of Punjab. His father, Sri Radha Krishna, was a popular teacher n a Government School. Lala Lajpat Rai was a born bright son of the nation and had been a brilliant student during his academic life. He finished his schooling and joined Lahore University from where he completed graduation and law, His student life had been much active and remarkable. After finishing his studies he started practicing in the court. In course of his profession he came across a patriot called Swami Dayanand. As he started his practice in the year 1886 as a lawyer in Hissar Court, he got opportunity to develop his own social circle. After six years of law practice, he completely devoted himself to public service. After the death of Swami Dayanand, he came forward to establish an educational organization called Dayanand Anglo Vedic School and College(DAV), which continues its service in streamlimg the ideas of Hindu Mythology and education for all. He was not only a social reformer but also a very good writer and tried to inspire Indian People to fight against suppression and exploitation through his writings. He had written many books on Krishna, Shivaji, Garibaldi and Swami Dayanand. In the year 1883 he joined politics in the congress party to fight against the British Imperialism, for the freedom of India. He was a spirited person with a great force and energy. In the year 1896 when M.P. state was under drought, he was the first man who came forward with his team to help the drought affected people. In he year 1905 when there was an earthquake in Kangra district, he organized a very effective movement to help the people under the banner of Arya Samaj. During his stay in England he warned the British Mass to cease ill treatment against the Indians. He had drawn the attention of the British mass over the plight of the Indian. On his return to India, he successfully organized a protest to boycott foreign goods and products. His contribution to the nation is unaccountable in the field of social, cultural, economic and political sphere. He devoted himself completely to the nation and inspired Indians to become self made and self esteemed.
