Our state ‘Sikkim’ has diversified features from extreme high hills to low hills, somewhere plateaus and some plains. Turuk is located in south district of Sikkim. It is 20 km away from Namchi, the District Headquarter of south Sikkim. It has been divided into seven wards. Government secondary school Turuk lies on one of the wards i.e. Mangalbarey ward, just near to the PWD road, from Namchi to Melli Bazar. It covers an area 8561.7586 sq m. It stands on an altitude of approximately 1400 metres i.e. on Sub-Temperature zone. In the domain of Literacy, public of Turuk seems very aware of it, as committee school was established in 1947, at the time of Independence of our country, India. The school was run as committee school with the in-chargeship of Lt. Bir Bahadur Chettri followed by Lt. Bir Bahadur Rai, Lt. Shiva Prasad Pradhan, Smt. Kharga Maya Rai and Shri Harka Bahadur Rai since the year 1947 to 1955. In the year 1956,
