St.Xavier’s School Chakarnagar is a Catholic Christian Minority Education Institution run by St. Thomas Educational and Medical Society for Christian Students.However we admit students irrespective of caste,creed or social status. It is affiliated to the C.B.S.E, Delhi, Affiliation Number :2133503 . St.Xavier’s School,Chakarnagar is established in the year 2018. Saint Francis Xavier was born on April 7, 1506 in Navarre in Spain. He was a companion of Saint Ignatius of Loyola and one of the first seven Jesuits who took vows of poverty and chastity to begin the Jesuit order. Jesus asked “what profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and loose his own soul?” (Mathew 16:26). These words touched the heart of young Francis Xavier who decided to become a Catholic Priest. From Venice, where he was ordained a priest in 1537, Xavier went on to Lisbon and from there sailed to the East Indies, landing at Goa, on the west coast of India. For the next 10 years till his death, he travelled far and wide in India. Where ever he went, Xavier lived with the poorest people, sharing their food and rough accommodations. He spent countless hours ministering to the sick and the poor, particularly to lepers. Very often he had no time to sleep or even to say his breviary but, as we know from his letters, he was filled always with joy. Xavier died on Dec 3, 1552 at the age of 46. He was beatified by Pope Paul V in 1619, and canonized by Pope Gregory XV in 1622. A famed missionary himself, he is now the patron Saint of missionaries.
