Progressive Public School, Dumri , Giridih is the outcome of the pressing demand of the public of Dumri, Isri and surrounding villages within the radius of 40 kms. The people of these villages were realizing the lack of a C.B.S.E English medium School. Some educationists and Politicians of Dumri , Nawadih , Bagodar and Pirtand blocks made several meetings under the chairmanship of Present M.L.A of Dumri constituency, Mr. Jagarnath Mahto , with a view to start such a school at Dumri, The honourable M.L.A Mr. Jagarnath Mahto felt that there is not any C.B.S.E School in the radius of 40Kms. The villages, surrounding to Dumri are populated by the caste of mainly backword caste, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and Muslim. So he gave this responsibility to Dr. Shamsul Haque, Principal , P.N. Inter Collage Isri Bazar , to stand an English Medium school at Jamtara , (Dumri). Dr. Haque started an English medium school at Jamtara (Dumri) in 2008. The educationists and the Politicians encouraged and helped him very much where and when he required. This school was named “Progressive Public School.” In the month of February Annual day of the school is celebrated every year. Needless to say the people of his locality took keen interest in the school. They arranged several meeting to meet the initial requirement of school. Among from the local persons who keep interest in education a local committee was made. To run this school smoothly and remove the economic problem, a Trust was made in 2010. Dr. Shamsul Haque got the Trust registered in the district registry office Giridih. He and his wife leased more than 2 acres of land to the Trust. This Trust was named Nasimul Memorial Educational & Welfare Trust, in the memory of their heavenly son, Nasimul Haque. We feel pride to say that this school is imparting education to the poor people of surrounding villages. The management committee tries to bring the helpless children to school and the members of the Trust and M.C fulfil their essential. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES Progressive Public School, Dumri, provides a congenial environment for all-round development of personality and its integration with the society, particularly in reference to the Indian context. Positive ideas are inculcated in students regarding personal hygiene, neatness of Uniform, cleanliness of surroundings, graceful obedience and discipline. To achieve high academic standards, personal attention is given to each individual child. Highly motivated and dedicated team of teachers play the role model for the children.
