Its closer to world renowned Tabo: a place with a large monastery of great historical significance. The Vidyalaya is enclosed between the lofty mountain ranges with the Spiti River rising out of a gorge in the south east to make Satluj River. It is a typical cold desert region with its harshest and treacherous weather and the most winding waves. The Vidyalaya is housed in scattered accommodation; the academic block of the Vidyalaya facing the snow clad mountains offers a spectacular landscape of serenity. In fact the pollution free atmosphere of the exotic Spiti Valley has been an inspiring factor for the staff and students to pursue the noble task of teaching-learning process.
