Aligarh Public School, founded by Prof. A.M Khusro, the then Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University in 1977, with a view mainly to provide high standard schooling facilities. Great people with a vision leave behind a legacy and he founded Sir Syed Education Society and the Vice Chancellor of AMU as its patron. The school started functioning from nursery to class V in the first phase and then moved up to standard 10th in 1984. Later it was upgraded to +2 level in 1999. Aligarh Public School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which is the largest board in the country. APS is a co-educational school with strength of about 1800 students on roll. The school provides free education to large number underprivileged students. The school has three separate buildings Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary with adequate facilities and is well equipped and airy forty seven classrooms, a library, three science labs, and two computer labs for Primary and Secondary/Senior Secondary students. All the three buildings have staff rooms, lockers for teachers, stores, kitchen, water coolers with ROs, separate toilets for ladies and gents staffs, boys and girls. There are two large playgrounds with volley ball, basketball courts and four gardens. The school has visitors room also. All three labs namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are well equipped with necessary facilities, helping students to complete their experiments without any difficulty. Each year labs are renovated and new equipments are added. With the new emerging technologies, APS has well-furnished computer labs with projector and brand new computers are added every year. The school has Wi-Fi connection too. APS has separate rooms for Subject In-charges and has an examination room. CCTV is also provided in every class rooms and offices etc. The school library is well stocked with wide range of titles. It is continuously updated keeping the needs of students in mind. The library has sections ranging from text books to references, fiction to general knowledge to make learning a fun. There are books and magazines on general topics also. The school also has sports room, a canteen for students and staffs and two cycle stands. Aligarh Public School also has a big generator for the whole premises. The school has very good learning environment. The dedicated teachers inspire the students to achieve the highest possible academic standards while focusing on the needs of every individual.
